TEHRAN – Mohsen Hashemi, son of the late Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, on Sunday said a recent meeting of the Hashemis with the Supreme Leader was held in “an atmosphere of friendliness and kindness”, dismissing ill-wished allegations about the family’s relationship with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Hashemi explained that the meeting took place after the late ayatollah’s 40th day service, where the Hashemis thanked the Leader for having prayed over Rafsajani’s body and held a mourning service for him.
